Duty Information

Parent participation is crucial to the success of Little Athletics. Every family is required to assist in the running of the programs during the year. Without parent helpers, the programs would not run as well or not at all, limiting the enjoyment of the sport for the kids. All clubs are required to supply parent helpers each week pro-rata to its registered Athletes. No prior experience or specific expertise, are required to perform the duties and there are a large variety of tasks that need to be undertaken each week. For this reason, our club and most others set up a roster to share the duties around. You will be registered for duty approximately every third week. Duties are allocated before the start of each program and are assigned on a first in best-dressed basis. Please note that there is a Chief Official at each event who can advise you of what you will be required to do. The jobs incorporate ticket writing (time, distance or height), timing, racking, recording or even retrieving of equipment.

On competition day you are required to report to the duty officer located near the front of the Canteen Building. We ask that parents come to the Rowville Lakes area once your duty has been allocated so that we can also note our records.

This year, Rowville Lakes are responsible for running the Back Straight Finish and Mini Olympics events each week. If you would like to get to know more of the families from your club, then register for duty at one of these events.

If you are not sure what to do, just ask one of the club representatives located at the Rowville Lakes Tent.

If for some reason you are unable to attend your allocated duty, we ask that you attempt to swap with another member of our club.

If you are unable to attend on a day due to illness and are unable to organise another person to fill in, please contact either:
Club President - Nick Tahlambouris on 0407 827 759 or
Team Manager - Keith Lotherington on 0403 601 577
